WHAT IF... All The Hippos Got Loose And Came To Live With Us?

  • This entertaining book hits many marks. It is appropriate from birth as a read aloud through fourth grade as a starter for creative writing. My students would have picked their favorite animal and gone with it. The varied fonts contribute to the fun of reading. The illustrations are engaging, joyful and move the story along. I especially like the contrast of the grays and blacks to the bright colors. The poetry is nicely placed with “stretchy” rhymes. Most importantly, this book embraces the themes of acceptance, inclusion and friendship in a delightful manner. It has been added to my Gramma Nonna’s Book of the Month Club! Looking forward to the next one by King and Kushnir.

Such a cute book with beautiful, colorful illustrations that kept us turning the pages. We laughed through all the hilarious hippo scenarios. Highly recommend if you enjoy hearing your little ones giggle!
